What Does the DAAD GSSP Scholarship Cover?
The DAAD Graduate School Scholarship Programme (GSSP) offers strong financial and academic support in the following ways:
- Monthly stipend for 36 months
- Health, accident, and liability insurance
- Travel allowance (if applicable)
- Foreign research stays (up to a quarter of the scholarship period can be financed)
- one year with the possibility of extension depending on the outcome
Eligibility Criteria
The following are the criteria that you have to fulfill if you are to apply for the DAAD PhD Scholarships in Literature:
- Candidates must have a Master’s degree (or an exceptional Bachelor’s degree) in literary studies or any related field with good academic performance.
Minimum GPA of 2.0 for Master’s
Minimum GPA of 1.5 for Bachelor’s - Demonstrate language proficiency:
C1 level in either German or English
B1 level in the other language - Have any other language skills as per study regulations
- No person who has been a resident in Germany for over fifteen months at the time of nomination.
- Have obtained your last academic degree within the last 6 years
- Not already hold a PhD
- They also should be willing to work in an interdisciplinary support team comprising three supervisors.
